NY-based crews complete Annual Safety Training

Industrial Furnace Company's NY based crews and office staff completed annual refresher training in accordance with MSHA and OSHA Regulations.  Also, new to this year, our employees were trained on an Infectious Disease Preparedness and Response Plan, which included guidance on prevenintg the spread of COVID-19.    

Industrial Furnace Company takes training very seriously for its employees.  Here is the full list of topics covered in this year's training:

IFCO's Essential Operations Continue During COVID-19 Pandemic

New York State’s Governor Cuomo Executive Order 202.6 prohibits all businesses from having their employees work on-site during the COVID-19 outbreak unless their business is considered ‘essential.’  The services that IFCO provides qualify as essential and life sustaining because we support the following critical areas:

  • Utilities including power generation, fuel supply, and transmission
  • Public water, sewage, and wastewater
  • Airports
  • Industrial specialty construction
  • Manufacturing in Mining
  • Primary Metal Manufacturing
  • Paper Manufacturing

IFCO continues its commitment to keeping our employees, vendors, suppliers, business partners, and the general public safe during the evolving conditions related to COVID-19. We will continue to monitor our operations plan and will be ready to make changes if needed to ensure everyone’s safety.

IFCO Provides MACT Training in Alaska

IFCO’s training team did MACT SSI Training at the Alaska Water and Waste Water Utility in Anchorage Alaska.  IFCO also provided services to review the Plant’s current incineration process and then provide a report in recommended improvements. 

IFCO Mourns Passing of Ron Valion

Industrial Furnace Company is mourning the passing of its valued employee- Ron Valion.  Ron passed away on 1/22/2020.  He was just two weeks shy of what would have been his 62nd birthday.  Ron started with Industrial Furnace Company in August of 1990.  He was a hard-working, dedicated employee who became one of our top masons.  He often traveled with Pee Wee Grant’s crews in the 90’s.  At Eastman Kodak, Ron was always admired for his work by Max Lill.  Our hearts and prayers go out to the Valion family.  Ron will surely be missed by his family at Industrial Furnace Company.    

Safety Training for IFCO Employees

December 30, 2019

Industrial Furnace Company provided safety training to its NY-based employees on Friday 12/27/19.  Employees were trained by the Red Cross in CPR and 1st Aid.  In addition, they were also trained on Confined Space Rescue Operations.  If requested, Industrial Furnace Company can provide staffing and equipment to do rescue services for its employees when working inside confined space environments.

IFCO Installs Caustic System

October 15, 2019

Industrial Furnace Company just completed an installation of a fully-automated Caustic Skid to monitor and regulate the pH for a scrubber discharge water. This system was required by the EPA to comply to SSI MACT Regulations.

Chris Johnston, Foundry Division Manager, Parts and Castings

September 15, 2019

After working for Industrial Furnace Company for over 30 years, Tom Brennan has retired and Chris Johnston is taking over as the Foundry Division Manager, Parts and Castings. Tom has continued part-time to help Chris as he transitions into his new role. Industrial Furnace Company is excited to see Chris take over this department, and also sends best wishes to Tom in his retirement!

IFCO at AMG's Groundbreaking Ceremony

August 29, 2019

IFCO’s Mike Hilton and Jim Lill attended AMG Vanadium’s Groundbreaking celebration for its new Zanesville Plant, located in Muskingum County, Ohio. The ceremony was attended by ~100 federal, state, and local elected officials, business and civic leaders, customers, and supplier partners of AMG. With the addition of the new plant, AMG Vanadium will essentially double its spent catalyst recycling capacity and ferroalloy production. 

 

Floor Rehab

July 24, 2019

This is one of 6 basins where we are rehabilitating the floor to each of these large vaults in the ground. Each basin is approximately 6300 sq.ft. in size.  

Working underground, we are removing 2 inches of the old failing grout, and replacing it with an ultra strong polymer concrete that is extremely durable (i.e. 18,000 psi compressive strength) but also chemically resistant throughout its entire thickness.
